This bag was designed as the culmination of a three-week long exploration of origami, kirigami , and its application to textiles. I developed this project beginning with paper folding explorations. To transfer the creases to fabric, it is set between a double layer of the origami pattern, tightly secured, and baked. The dense concentric folds produce a concave curvature which inspired this simple bucket bag. A strap weaves through the creases of the origami fabric, naturally tightening the top when in use.
