sow to dough co-operative

The Sow to Dough Co-op is situated in a vacant historic Chicago greystone, on the corner of W 16th St and S Harding Ave. The Co-operative’s priorities are building community health and wealth through the provision of groceries, local greenhouses, a solar farm and a shared kitchen to aid in the establishment of small food businesses.

In addition to being a food co-op, Sow to Dough houses a shared commercial kitchen to support the growth of small North Lawndale food businesses, runs greenhouses that supply some of their produce and operates a solar farm. Sow to Dough operates in a cyclical manner, beginning with the reuse of building materials, then the growth of food in the neighborhood, followed by the the preparing and selling and sharing of it at the Co-op.
